Our beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, and friend Nadine passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Eden, Utah on July 23, 2024. It was two months to the day of being diagnosed with a stage 4 glioblastoma brain tumor. She was born in Salt Lake City to George Mack Olsen and Evelyn Hunsaker Olsen. She loved her family and enjoyed trips to see her grandparents in Cokeville, Wyoming and Leeds, Utah. Her best friends growing up were her cousins and her siblings. She was like a 2nd mother to her brother Jeff when he was a baby. She absolutely adored him! She and Steve had a fun-loving relationship and teased each other constantly. Though her sister Sandy was younger, they were very close growing up and have remained best friends to this day.
Nadine was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At a young age she gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon, The Savior, and living prophets. She faithfully attended her church meetings and regularly worshiped in the temple. She lovingly served in many church callings throughout her life. Her most recent calling was serving as scribe to her husband who is a Patriarch in the Huntsville, Utah Stake.
She married her sweetheart Steven Ray Chapman in the Salt Lake LDS temple on June 18, 1971. They recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Many friends and family have observed their love for one another and expressed that they too aspire to have the same in their lives. Steve and Nadine love spending time together and have traveled all over the world enjoying the beauties of Gods creations. They were blessed to serve together presiding over the Ireland, Dublin Mission from 2004-2007. There they came to love the people of Ireland and the magnificent Irish countryside and villages. They developed eternal relationships while there with the missionaries and the wonderful Irish saints. Steve and Nadine are the parents of six children and the proud grandparents of 14 grandchildren.
Nadine loved being a homemaker and was a gourmet cook. She kept an immaculate home and loved serving her family and others. She was world famous for her chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls. She has made over 20 beautiful quilts, beautiful porcelain dolls, and many other treasures that our family continues to enjoy. Our family loves to be together and we have enjoyed many family dinners. Nadine took advantage of every opportunity to teach the gospel and share her testimony to her loving family.
Nadine is survived by her loving husband Steve, her children and grandchildren Reid (Valorie) Allison, McKenzie, Carter, and Jacob, Dan (Darlene) Kerby, Kim-Sherlock and Theo, Brooke Anderson (Spencer) Caden, Chase, Noah, and Isaac, Katie Mitchell (Ben) Hallie and Mackay, Thomas (Melanie) Charlie, Kai and Zac. Siblings Steve (Cindy), Sandy Burgoyne (Bob), and Jeff (Juanita).
