Listen to Obituary

If you ever walked into Misty’s home, you knew right away that someone with a gift lived there. Misty Lyn Groberg Day, 52, passed away unexpectedly on October 12, 2026, at her home in Kaysville, Utah. She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and a world made more beautiful by her hands.

Misty was born to Keith and Jill Groberg on April 29, 1974, in Madrid, Spain, where her father was serving in the Air Force. On September 25, 1992, she married Jonathan Day, and together they built a home full of love, color, and a little bit of magic over 34 years.

Misty was extremely intelligent all her life, and her brilliant mind was matched only by her generous heart. She could take things others overlooked and turn them into something beautiful: a display for her home, a centerpiece, or a one-of-a-kind gift made just for you. She had an artist’s eye for color and could pair shades that simply worked. She brought that same talent to interior design and to the flower arrangements she created. She loved anything miniature. She spent happy hours painting tiny murals and pictures on rocks, crafting miniature books, and building little worlds full of detail. When Misty planned an event, you could count on it being thoughtful, well organized, and spectacular.

Misty had a quiet confidence. She was open, genuine, and approachable, and she always had a quote of encouragement for anyone who needed it. If you asked Misty for advice, she told you the truth, kindly and honestly, because she cared too much to tell you anything less.

Misty loved with all her heart and soul, and she would fiercely defend the people she loved. Her greatest joy and proudest work were her children, Cassandra, Earl, and Jaxon. She was at peace with herself and carried no animosity in her heart. She held no grudges and no unfinished battles, only love.

Misty is survived by her husband, Jonathan; her children, Cassandra Day (Jayme Lane), Earl Day (Jada Maw), and Jaxon Day; her mother, Jill Groberg; her siblings, Jason Groberg (Christine), Shawn Groberg, and Brittany Piper (Terrance); and countless family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Keith Groberg.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Russon Mortuary, 1941 N. Main St., Farmington, Utah.

Misty would want us to keep creating, keep speaking the truth, and keep loving fiercely. We’ll be thinking of her every time we see a painted rock, a perfect color combination, or a table set just right.
