Mildred Hafey

November 4, 1929 — November 13, 2021

Mildred (Mickey) Mathis Jorgensen Hafey went to with the Lord November 13, 2021. Mickey was born November 4, 1929 in Columbia, South Carolina the fifth of eight children to parents Furman and Mamie Mathis. She married Ivan (Ike) Jorgensen in Columbia, S.C. and moved to Utah. He passed away October 1996. They had 50 great years together. She was blessed with her only child Judy and granddaughter Sally.

Mickey worked in the nursing profession for over thirty years. She worked at Holy Cross VA Hospital. The last 22 years she was the office Nurse for Dr. Kay Okawa, Cardiologist in Bountiful, Utah. She loved her profession and her patients.

In 1997 she met another love of her life at the 10th East Senior Center, Mark Hafey. They were married December 1998. They spent time traveling together visiting Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, Caribbean, Panama Canal and many trips to Branson and tours in all the sites in the U.S. They also loved the trips to South Carolina to visit family and friends.

Preceded in death by husband Ike Jorgensen and daughter Judy Morris, 2 brothers Elrige and Doug Mathis, 5 sisters Mary Brewer, Sally Moak, Virginia Warren, Betty Moak and Nell Wylie, all of South Carolina. Survived by Sally McMillan, granddaughter of Salt Lake and husband Mark H. Hafey, both of Utah.

Mickey was a Christian and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City. She requested no viewing. A memorial will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Ut. A private graveside service will be held at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery in Bountiful, Utah.

A special thanks to step daughter and son in law Michelle and Kris Moyes for their love and care of Mickey over the years.
