Syracuse

Michael “Mykey” Jordan Stone passed away on August 13, 2026. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend whose kindness, creativity, and joyful spirit touched the lives of so many.

Michael was born on September 26, 1986, in Payson, Utah. From an early age, he was adventurous and loved spending time with family and friends. As a teenager, his love of music began to take root. He enjoyed playing guitar(with a passion for bass), writing songs, and experimenting with creating and performing music with different bands. He graduated from Davis High School in 2005 and later attended Snow College, where he especially enjoyed classes that allowed him to express his creativity and artistic talents.

Michael had a deep love for his family and friends, and his nieces and nephews held a particularly special place in his heart. To them, he was their awesome Uncle Mike—someone who brought laughter, warmth, and a sense of belonging wherever he went. He was also someone who never held back when it came to showing his love. Mike was always quick to say, “I love you,” and he gave the kind of hugs that made you feel how much he truly cared. Those words and those hugs will be treasured by his family and friends and deeply missed.

Creativity was woven into so much of Michael’s life. He loved photography and capturing moments through his camera. Music was another constant source of joy. He loved going to concerts and shows, writing and playing music, listening to his favorite songs, and sharing those experiences with the people around him. He also enjoyed fire performing, playing video games, going on adventures and hikes, attending parties, and making memories with family and friends.

One of the qualities that made Mike so unforgettable was his kindness. He had a natural gift for making people feel welcome. He noticed those who weren’t sure they belonged, those who stood on the edges of a group, and somehow found a way to bring them into the circle. To Mike, no one should ever feel left out.

He loved people in simple but meaningful ways—by making them laugh, making sure they felt seen, and reminding them that they mattered. He carried a contagious positive energy and had a genuine desire to help others find happiness. He touched the hearts of the people he met, often leaving them a little happier simply because they had known him.

A friend who loved him expressed what so many feel:“You had this quiet superpower. You never let anyone sit on the edges. You noticed the ones hanging back, the ones who weren't sure they belonged, and you pulled them in like it was the most natural thing in the world. No one ever left one of your circles feeling left out. That wasn't an accident. That was you.”

Another kind friend said:“He has probably lived more lifetimes than I could have lived. He experienced so much and lived life to the fullest.”

Mike’s life reminds us that sometimes the greatest impact a person can have is simply making others feel loved, included, and important.

Though his time here was far too short, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. We will remember his creativity, his humor, his music, his adventurous spirit, his kindness, and, most of all, the way he made people feel.

Michael “Mykey” is survived by his parents, Lynda and Larry Bott and Doug and Carolyn Stone; his siblings, Kendra (Shawn) Larsen, Joseph (Jamie) Stone, Daniel Stone, Joshua (Renee) Bott, Jessica (Chad) Rosser, Elizabeth (Warrick) van Biljon, and Jonathan (Madi) Stone and his 22 nieces and nephews, who will forever love and remember their Uncle Mike.

He was deeply loved. He will be profoundly missed. And he will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Mykey. Until we meet again.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Mike’s 40th Birthday, Saturday, September 26th. More details to come.
