Michael E. Jensen

Michael Eugene Jensen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away suddenly on August 22, 2025, due to cardiac arrest, at the age of 67 while at the family cabin in Island Park, Idaho—a place he deeply loved. His passing was unexpected but peaceful, surrounded by his wife and the serenity of the mountains he cherished.

Born on October 14, 1957, in California to Loyal Jr. and Karen Lyn Call Jensen, Mike lived a life of purpose, faith, and quiet service. As a young man, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand, where he learned the value of hard work, deepened his testimony, and developed a lifelong love for the gospel and its teachings. His mission was a formative time that strengthened his character and resolve.

On June 2, 1989, Mike was sealed for time and all eternity to his eternal companion and sweetheart, Cathryn Crowley, in the Salt Lake City Temple. For 36 beautiful years, Mike and Cathy built a marriage grounded in love, mutual respect, and laughter. They were truly one—yin and yang—each completing the other. Whether he was opening her car door or holding her hand on a walk, Mike’s love for Cathy was evident in every small, thoughtful gesture. Their marriage was not only a partnership but a tender friendship that inspired all who knew them.

Mike was a devoted father to Katie and Chris and a proud grandfather to Emery, Brayden, Brynn, and Cole. His family was his world. He quietly and consistently gave his best to them—offering advice, fixing what was broken, and always showing up. He was a man you could depend on, a steady rock in times of both calm and storm.

With over 40 years in property management, Mike was well-respected for his work ethic, practical knowledge, and unwavering integrity. He was the man who always knew how to fix things—whether it was a leaking pipe or a heavy heart. He did it all without fanfare or need for recognition, simply because that’s who he was: selfless, humble, loyal, and kind.

Mike’s faith in Jesus Christ was his foundation. He lived the gospel quietly but powerfully—through his actions, his kindness, and his tears of testimony. He believed deeply in the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation. His testimony wasn’t loud, but it was unshakable. He knew his divine identity and lived with purpose and devotion to his Heavenly Father.

He found joy in the simple things—working with his hands, serving others, and spending time outdoors. Whether it was Island Park, Banff, McCall, or St. George, Mike found peace in the mountains and wilderness. On the very day of his passing, he shared how much he loved being in the mountains. It is fitting that he returned to his Heavenly home from a place that brought him such joy.

Mike will be remembered as a man of few words but profound actions. His legacy of quiet strength, service, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were blessed to know him.

He is survived by his eternal companion, Cathy; his children, Katie (Lucas) Wild and Chris (Nicole) Jensen; and his four beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings and extended family who loved and admired him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyal Jr. and Karen, and his sister, Julie Knab.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6th at the Orchard Chapel, 1282 W 1875 N, Farmington, Utah. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Mike will be laid to rest at the Kaysville Cemetery.

Mike’s life was a quiet testimony of love, loyalty, and devotion. He was the unsung hero to many, and though he has returned home, the light he shared continues to shine in the lives he touched.
