Mercedes Uboldi

August 28, 1952 — September 30, 2023

Bountiful, UT

Mercedes Uboldi passed away peacefully on September 30, 2023, after a long and hard battle with cancer. She was able to pass away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Mercedes was born in Concordia, Entre Rios, Argentina on August 28, 1952, to Gumersindo Ferrante and Hilda Ramona Senor de Ferrante. She was the fourth of six children. At the age of thirteen, she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remained a faithful member her whole life. She lived in Concordia until the age of seventeen when she moved to Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, with her family.

She married Jorge Uboldi in October 1973 (they later divorced after 32 years). She graduated with a degree in Midwifery while expecting her first son, Marcos. A year and eight months later she had her second son, Esteban. In 1977 they moved their young family to Brazil, where they welcomed their two daughters, Laura and Tomasina. Mercedes and her young family had the privilege to live in Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela and finally settling in the United States close to her children. Mercedes loved every place she lived including the different cultures, people, and climate. She made many special friends in all of these places with whom she stayed in contact with throughout her life.

Mercedes enjoyed doing many things; playing competitive volleyball in high school, rode horses, played tennis, loved all sorts of crafts, cooking, looking stylish and was very good at color combinations. She loved anything that involved water and working on her tan. But the thing she loved most, was her family. She had a very special relationship with her four children and her in-laws. She had a profound and special relationship with her grandchildren. She loved her siblings and was very close to all of them. She also had a special love for the animals in her family.

Mercedes had a heart of gold. She loved serving others. She would spend many, many hours of her life with the elderly and tending to their needs. She served many individuals as a ministering sister. She loved babies and loved to hold them every chance she could. She is survived by her four children; Marcos (Maria), Esteban (Amy), Laura (Dave) and Tomasina. Her twelve grandchildren; Gabi, Mason, Leah, Dylan, Diego, Mylo, Preston, Kylie, Milli, Otis, Marissa, and Caleb. Her siblings; Marilu, Roberto (Susana), Magali (Norberto), Hilda (Hugo) and Ruben (Laura) and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Klaus (Marilu).
