Matthew Cole Harris

May 25, 1959 — June 26, 2018

Matthew Cole Harris, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on June 26, 2018 after a brief battle with brain cancer. He was surrounded by his family who loved and adored him. If you knew Matt, you loved Matt.

Matt was born in Ogden, UT in 1959 and spent most of his summers in Malad, ID on his beloved grandparent’s farm. There, he learned the principles of integrity, tenacity, and the value of a hard-days-work.

In 1982 he earned the hand of Stephanie Peterson when they worked together at the same bank. He adored her, and treated her like a queen. His proudest accomplishment was his family. He is survived by his wife Stephanie, his 3 daughters Mackenzi (Luke) Kylee (Skylar) Whitnie (Brock) and his 2 sons Cole (Hilary) and Connor (Lovie). His 10th and 11th grandchildren are due this fall. He was preceded in death by his grandson Quaid. His family loved him dearly, and are proud to tell people that Matt Harris was their dad.

He will be remembered by his infectious laugh that drew people to him, his ability to make you feel loved and important, his famous left-handed handshake, and his all-comforting hugs. He was honest, wise, kind and humble. A true follower of Jesus Christ who led and taught by deed, not just word.

“Life is good, stay the course.”
