Marvin Ray Gardner

Marvin was raised in Elfrida, Arizona, the son of Charles Edward Gardner & Anna Corrinne Keith. On 14 May 1965, he married his sweetheart, Loni Gayle Johnson, in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Together they raised six children: David (Tammy), Deanne, Derek (Barbara), Daron (Jackie), Dior (Heidi), & Doug (Gina). Marvin’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, and each can attest to the enormous love he shared with them.

While being a loving husband, father, brother, & son, Marvin was always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors and strangers alike. He filled his life with passions for scouting, church service & working to build a community to name just a few. He loved collecting memories and retelling stories. As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Marvin served a mission in New Zealand and joyfully served in any calling or organization he was asked to.

Marvin passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Loni; his parents; and his brothers, Howard and Allan. He is survived by his six children, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and siblings Edward and Lanette, along with countless other family, friends, scouts, and neighbors who loved him dearly. Marvin had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and his legacy of kindness and service will live on in all who knew him.

Viewings will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah 84010, and on Monday, December 8, 2025, From 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the LDS Chapel, 650 East 2150 South in Bountiful followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
