Martha Wigren, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many returned to her Heavenly Father and reunited with her loving husband on Friday, November 12, 2021.
She was born on July 17, 1934, in Jeffers, Montana to Paul Overton Pasley and Margueritte Isabelle Evans. She spent her childhood in Montana before moving to West Sacramento, California as a teenager.
She married Carl Russell Wigren December 29, 1955, in West Sacramento, California. They were blessed with two children, Lois and Paul. It was in West Sacramento where they raised their family. They later moved to Layton, Utah to be near their children and grandchildren.
Martha lived a life of service, always helping those around her including friends, neighbors, and especially her own family. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved the children she served for many years in primary. She was a talented cook and seamstress and blessed many with the fruits of her labor. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her faith, her love, and for the beautiful holiday traditions she passed on to her children and grandchildren, which were so important to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Wigren, her brother, and son, Paul Wigren.
She is survived by her daughter Lois (Bruce Sweeten), grandchildren Bruce (Mitzi) Sweeten, Tiffany (Nathan) Hillyard, Scott (Tristen) Sweeten, Bret (Sammy) Sweeten, Anthony (Heidi) Wigren, Chad (Jessie) Wigren, as well as 13 great grandchildren whom she dearly loves.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff at Legacy House in Bountiful as well as Inspiration Home Health and Hospice, and her nurse Dee, for their loving care during her final months.
A viewing will be held Thursday, November 18th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah. A graveside service will be held the following day, Friday, November 19th at 11:00 am at the Bountiful City Cemetery,2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, UT.
