Marlene Thomas Cahoon

Molly Cahoon, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 24th, 2025 surrounded by family and laughter, just as she always wanted.

Molly was born October 26th in Salt Lake City, UT to Harvey and Victoria Williams Thomas. Full of sass and wit she met her match, the love of her life, Kenneth Cahoon. They married on February 26, 1954 and were blessed with 4 beautiful children.A hard worker from a young age, Molly held a number of jobs before she found her true calling as the owner of H&H bar and Cahoon’s Saloon. When she wasn’t behind the bar, you could find her throwing a bowling ball down the lane of any bowling alley in UT, winning trophy after trophy.In her later years, she found fulfillment in being a care giver, for both grandchildren and treasured friends, as well as playing poker with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 12 siblings (Arthell, Evelyn, Elaine, Harvey Jr, Glen, Lurlen, Dean, DeLorne, Walt, Lu Jean, Bonnie, Vicki), grandson Kevan, and countless brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is survived by her Sister, Cleda Freeman; Brother, Thomas R. Thomas; 4 children, Jill, Jack (Tricia), Kim, and Jody; 8 Grandchildren, Keath, Sheri (Jamie), Kenny, Amanda, Tory, Levi (Meghan), Sarah, and Jacob; 12 Great Grandchildren, Julie, Leann (Edward), Kelsey, Chevin, Courtney, Tara, Carly, Cami, Myles, Kennedy, Molly Kay, and Carter; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Zenon and Olivia May. While she loved all of them equally, her favorite was arguably her namesake, Molly Kay.

The family would like to thank the staff at CNS Hospice, University of Utah D50 unit, and U of U palliative care team for their exemplary care of Molly.

Visitation services will be held from 6-8PM on Monday, September 29th, at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main Bountiful UT. 

Graveside services will be held the following day, Tuesday, September 30th, at Noon at Bountiful City Cemetery.
