Marlene Baldree

April 22, 1941 — March 28, 2026

Marlene Yates Baldree passed away peacefully at her home in Centerville, Utah, surrounded by family on the morning of March 28, 2026.

She was born on April 22, 1941, to LaRue and Frewtrilla Yates in Box Elder, Utah. She was the youngest and only daughter of 3 children.

Marlene was raised on a small dairy farm cared for by her father, a place that shaped her values of hard work and a love for simple living.

She attended school in Brigham City and graduated from Box Elder High School. She was a wonderful musician, playing both the piano and viola. She had a beautiful alto voice and sang often, harmonizing with her father, LaRue.

Marlene attended Brigham Young University, where she met the love of her life, Bobby Baldree. They were sealed for all time and eternity on September 16, 1960, in the Logan Utah Temple. Together, they raised 4 boys and 3 girls.

They lived on a beautiful acre of land in Centerville, Utah, where she and Bobby loved, labored, and raised a large garden. They harvested, bottled, and preserved much of their own food. It was hard work, but to them, it was the best way of life.

Marlene was an amazing cook. She made wonderfully delicious bread and rolls. Neighbors looked forward to a loaf of her homemade bread each year as a special Christmas gift. She was wonderfully skilled at sewing, creating clothing, stuffed animals, and a variety of handmade crafts. She also loved doing art projects with her children as they grew up, filling their home with creativity, love, and lasting memories.

Marlene recently delighted in collecting and wearing adorable T-shirts, especially those with cute pictures and designs. She also had a love for collecting equally charming jewelry, which brought her great joy. She especially enjoyed receiving packages in the mail, often small, thoughtful gifts she chose for herself that brought her happiness. She was always excited to discover what surprises each one held.

She cherished the simple things in life and was deeply grateful for them. She often said how good life was as she sat beside her husband, Bobby, watching TV, as well as the squirrels playing outside the window. They really enjoyed their time together.

Her beloved husband, Bobby, passed away three months earlier, and she never wanted to be without him. With her heart full of love, she has now found peace, reunited with him.

Marlene was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was dearly loved by many, and her family will miss her deeply.

Marlene is survived by her children: Sherry Yost, Troy (Peggy), Rory, Sharla Johnson (Steve), Zane (Kelly), and Preston, 21 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bobby, daughter Sheela, and granddaughter Zeesha.
