Marilyn Ann Allred Hilton

October 11, 1935 — September 14, 2022

Bountiful, UT

Our beautiful Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and Sister passed away peacefully in her home September 14, 2022, encircled in love by her family. Marilyn Ann Allred was born October 11, 1935, in Mohrland, Utah, to Leslie and Louie Allred.

Mom was proud of her heritage and roots grounded deep in Carbon and Emery Counties. She believed everything good could be traced to Carbon County. She lived in Hiawatha and eventually settled in Sunnyside. She graduated from Carbon High School in 1953 and attended Utah State University where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.

Mom loved music and dancing. She was an accomplished pianist and accompanied many musical numbers over the years. Dancing was her favorite pastime and she enjoyed many evenings with dear friends and eventually our father as her partner. In the summer of 1956, mom was accepted to United Airlines Stewardess Training and was to report to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Thomas “J” Hilton had other plans as he reacquainted with Mom and they had a whirlwind courtship. They were married March 24, 1957, in Sunnyside, Utah, later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent their married years in Salt Lake City, Vista, California, Taylorsville, Granger, and Bountiful for the last 53 years.

Mom was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her testimony is strong and she lived her life as an example of her Savior in everything she did. She served faithfully in many callings and magnified them all.
Mom was a wonderful homemaker and most famous for her beautiful quilts, handwork, homemade rolls, jams, prime rib family dinners, clam dip, sugar cookies and Christmas candies. The Hiltons celebrated every holiday, receiving “treats” and décor from mom. She owned hundreds of Christmas Nutcrackers and gave away hundreds more. If you visited her at Christmastime, you left with a nutcracker in hand.

Due to Dad’s work, he and mom traveled the world together. They spent time in Italy, England, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, France, Monaco, and across the U.S. Mom enjoyed traveling with her children and grandchildren as well. Her favorite places were closer to home, as she spent time at her beautiful Scofield Cabin, where she made friends with everyone and everyone was welcome. She loved her beach house in San Diego, listening to the waves and spending time with those she loved.

Mom loved her Utah Utes and her Utah Jazz, having been a season ticket holder for many years. She loved away games, Bowl games and watching on TV. She was a lover of most sports having watched her children and grandchildren participate in just about everything from Rodeo Bull Riding to Collegiate Sports and all things in-between. Her “whistle” was unique and known by all teammates and fans. Mom wasn’t just a fan but, an enthusiastic fan!

Mom is survived by her five children; Thomas L. (Nikki) of Kaysville, Stephen K.  (Jill) of North Salt Lake, Stacey Lyn of Bountiful, Cory “J” (Diann) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Charisse Ann of Woods Cross. She also leaves 19 grandchildren and spouses, and 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Mom is also survived by her beloved brother Kenneth, age 95, of West Valley. As a family, we wish to thank Mom’s angelic caregivers who have loved her as their own and who are now part of our family.

We will celebrate her life at 12 noon Tuesday,  September 20, 2022, at the Canyon Park Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1190 East Bountiful Hills Drive, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held at the same location Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment - Lakeview Cemetery.
