Our beautiful mother, grandmother and friend, Marianne Page Noakes, age 91, passed away the afternoon of February 24, 2025, after three long weeks of a critical illness. Marianne was born July 13, 1933, in Ogden, Utah, to Kenneth Parker Page and Wilma B. Egbert Page. She was the second of four children. She lived her childhood in West Layton, Utah, graduating from Davis High School in 1951, where she met her precious sweetheart, David. They were married after a short courtship in 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple; a marriage that lasted 71 years.
Marianne devoted her time and talents to raising her children. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held numerous callings throughout her lifetime. She taught scouts for many years, which was one of her favorite callings. Those in her ward family often called her “mom.” She was a voracious reader and kept a notebook of all the books she checked out of the library. She was a lifetime learner, and loved taking classes about the gospel and life of Christ. She loved giving service. Marianne crocheted countless leper bandages and has bound thousands (literally) of quilts for her stake’s Humanitarian Center. She and David enjoyed their membership in the Jaycee’s. She worked in the Davis School District as a school lunch lady. Many pranks went on at work, and were often retold as fun stories to her children and grandchildren. After retirement, she and David served three full-time service missions. She loved serving in the temple. For the past many years, Marianne wrote a Sunday email to her family and friends, where she shared the news of the week and related family history stories, and experiences from her life.
Preceded in death by her parents; her sweetheart, David; brother, Joe Page; sister, Sharon Bachelor; granddaughter, Suzette Thomson; and three great-grandchildren.
Survived by children Sherrie (Dave) Goudy of West Bountiful, UT; Bonnie Thomson of Centerville, UT; Kurt (Jody) Noakes of Fountain Green, UT; Craig (Maria) Noakes of Bountiful, UT; and Lori (Darryl) Greco of Livermore, CA. Also survived by her brother, Lynn Page. 18 grandchildren, and 46 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all care givers who helped with Mom’s care during her illness.
