Maria Gabriela "Gabi" Gammon Ashcroft

Gabi, our beautiful wife, daughter, sister, friend, and colleague passed away on September 13, 2026. Gabi is survived by her husband Jordan and her four rescue cats that she always considered her children (Layla, Lucky, Link, and Paris). She is also survived by: her father Kenneth Gammon and her mother Simone Gammon, her twin-brother Kyle Gammon, Jordan’s parents, Bruce and Debbie Ashcroft, Jordan’s siblings and their spouses (Eric & Brooke Ashcroft, Karlie & Brett McGettigan, Jason Ashcroft, and Jackson Ashcroft), and Gabi’s nieces and nephew (Charlotte, Emery, and Collins Ashcroft, and Madeleine and Liam McGettigan). Finally, Gabi is survived by the many people she touched and influenced throughout her life, including her extended family, friends, and colleagues.

Gabi lived a vibrant, full, and successful life. Her innate desire to succeed and flourish drove her. And her competitive spirit shaped her life’s trajectory and embodied her persona. She wanted to win in all her life’s pursuits.

As a child, Gabi was known for being bubbly, fun, energetic, gregarious, and a great helper. She enjoyed helping her family around the house, going grocery shopping, and being a loving sister. She had a bright mind and loved reading, especially the Harry Potter series with her dad. Gabi carried her love of reading throughout her life and it contributed to her perfect reading and comprehension scores on the ACT. Gabi also enjoyed playing sports as a child. She was a terrific athlete and, true to her Brazilian heritage, focused her athletic energies on soccer—winning awards like “top goal scorer.” Gabi loved making and having friends. She was popular and well-liked. People loved her charisma, energy, and enthusiasm. Her friends benefited from her unique ability to pick out thoughtful gifts for them, provide emotional safety and support, and maintain fierce loyalty. While Gabi avoided being a troublemaker, she was not above minor infractions, such as playing pranks on family and friends or staying out late to see the midnight premiere of Harry Potter. Gabi balanced her pursuits of physical and educational excellence with a genuine desire to love, and have fun with, family and friends.

Gabi accomplished academic and professional success in many pursuits. While in high school, Gabi took part in a study abroad in Brazil, achieving mastery in Portuguese and acquiring a bite from the travel bug which would shape her life. She graduated from Davis High School. After high school, Gabi attended Weber State University where she graduated summa cum laude in professional sales while working 40+ hours per week. After graduation, Gabi worked in sales, largely for technology companies, where she always excelled. No one outworked Gabi. Gabi’s dedication to work earned her the nickname “clockwork,” reflecting her tireless efforts, her eagerness to succeed, and her propensity to achieve her goals. More importantly to Gabi, she developed strong friendships and bonds with her clients and peers. Gabi had a keen sense of duty, and her educational and career pursuits brought her feelings of pride and achievement, while also providing her the financial means to fund her ultimate dream: to travel the world.

Gabi loved learning about the world and all of its cultures. Gabi traveled to over fifty countries during her life, learning to say simple phrases in over twenty languages. Gabi was particularly proud of her Brazilian heritage and experiences, never denying the opportunity to tout Brazil as a top tourist destination, enjoy its well-known native food dishes, or root on its fabled soccer teams. Gabi was just as interested in everyone else’s travels as her own, always wanting to know which cities you visited, where you ate, and what cultural experiences you took in. Almost nothing excited her more than planning the next trip for her and Jordan. When Gabi was not working or traveling, she loved to spend time with friends or to simply “rot” — sitting in bed with Jordan, their four cats, and all of her favorite sweet-tooth snacks while watching movies or shows.

Gabi radiated passion. She felt strongly about social causes, driven by her intense emotions towards social justice for all those left behind. She attended rallies, posted on social media, voted, and was never afraid to debate and defend her views. She feared no one and always felt she deserved a seat at the table.

Gabi’s smile and laugh could light up a room. She had a smile and laugh that were genuine, from the heart, and full of character. She was a person that you wanted to invite when enjoying a dinner, a concert, or a night out. She and Jordan were great company together, made others laugh, and were eager to try new things and experiences. Gabi enjoyed family dinners, often cuddling up (likely with a blanket, because she was always cold) with her nieces and nephew on the couch scrolling, to the great delight of the kids, through cat and animal photos.

Gabi battled against life’s toughest tests, enduring many personal tragedies. However, because of her energetic and enthusiastic disposition, plus her penance for success, she rarely gave off the impression that she faced these tough tests and tragedies. Gabi always had a strong sense of what she wanted in life and she worked tirelessly to get it. Among her bucket list items were to “fall in love” and “travel the world,” both of which she accomplished. She made waves, loved passionately, laughed loud, and adventured frequently.

A celebration of life in Gabi’s honor will be on Saturday, September 19th, at Russon Mortuary in Farmington, Utah. Services will begin at 2:00pm with a viewing from 12:30-1:30pm.
