Margo Beecher

David Dell Beecher was born on August 14, 1942. He passed away of congestive heart failure surrounded by his loving family on September 24, 2026.

David was the first of 6 children of Delmont and Alene Beecher. He was the Apple of his mother’s eye!! He was very handsome, had a delightful personality and was very popular in High School, especially at the Church College of New Zealand where he was student body president. He enjoyed learning native Maori dances, especially the Haka, which he loved to perform for many years.

He left New Zealand for college before the other members of the family and lived with his Cutlergrandparents, graduating from The University of Utah with a teaching major in science and later earning a master’s degree in classroom instruction, degrees he put to good use as he taught in science classrooms, first in Arizona and then for years in Utah’s Davis County District. He also worked for a time at DRCO, Thiokol, and R.C. Willey in his professional life.

David was a very faithful member of the Church and was a young bishop when he taught school in Arizona. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to England, the land of his ancestors. Decades later, he and his wife, Margo, served a faithful mission in Nauvoo, Illinois, as senior missionaries focused on the powerful pageants staged there each summer. That was a very happy time for both of them!He married Vicki Larson and they had 5 children, Brian, Chris, Tony, Jon, and Holly. They were later divorced and then he married Margo Rodgers Inkley, a union sealed in the Laie, Hawaii Temple. That gave them a combined family of 9 wonderful children.

David loved the outdoors and to hunt and fish. David, along with his brothers-in-law and other family members, built a family cabin in Causey Estates, in the back of the Wasatch mountains. All the families enjoyed that cabin for many years! Great memories and lots of celebrations for the families were enjoyed there. 

David also loved singing whenever he had the opportunity, and anyone who heard his incredible deep bass voice was always amazed. During his lifetime, he sang in many choirs, including The Choral Arts Society of Utah, where he was the soloist for such songs as “Old Man River” and “The Grinch.” He also sang for a number of years in the Saltaires barbershop chorus, which he really enjoyed.

Another happy and important accomplishment for David and Margo was helping cofound Pages Lane Theatre in Centerville, Utah in 1990. That theatre later became Rodgers Memorial Theatre and now operates as CenterPoint Theatre, where it positively affects thousands of performers, Academy students, theatre production staff, audience members, and communities over and over again!

David’s family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Creekside Assisted Living and Ovation Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care for Dave during his parting days. Keeping him comfortable became their goal, and they did their very best in accomplishing that.

David is survived by his wife, Margo Rodgers Inkley Beecher, children Brian Beecher (Camille), Anthony Beecher (Erica), Jonathan Beecher, and Holly Taylor (Jason), and step children Michelle Inkley, Alyson Eversole (Andrew), and Daniel Inkley (Wendy). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Kristen Beecher (son Brian’s first wife), and his son, Christopher Beecher.

David’s Commemoration of Life Funeral services will include a viewing on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Russon Mortuary,295 N Main St. in Bountiful, Utah, from 6:00-8:00 PM, and again on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 9:45-10:45 AM at the Park Ward building, 1125 N 400 W, Centerville, Utah. A funeral service will follow at the Park Ward building at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 2, 2026. The funeral service will also be streamed live from this obituary page on the Russon Mortuary website. A grave dedication service will be held following the funeral at Centerville City Cemetery, 650 E 400 S, Centerville, Utah.
