Marcia Jane Evans Russon

December 2, 1942 — February 15, 2026

Bountiful, UT

Marcia Jane Evans Russon, 83, resident of Davis County for 59 years, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at Legacy House of Bountiful, where she has been compassionately cared for since 2023.

Marcia was born at Salt Lake City’s Holy Cross Hospital on December 2, 1942, the fourth child of Lila Snape Evans and William Ferd Evans. She married Kent Russon in the Salt Lake Temple on June 20, 1962. She was pre-deceased by her husband, her parents and her brothers Gary and Mike Evans.

She is survived by her brother Bill (Port Townsend, WA) and by her beloved children, their spouses and grandchildren: Ryan and Jennifer Adams Russon parents to Maxwell and Anna (Coral Springs, FL): Melanie and David Mills (Glendale, AZ); and Rob and Marianne Schreiner Russon, parents to Lionel and Eliana (Bountiful).

Marcia lived an exemplary life characterized by integrity, hard work, kindness, compassion, love for children and animals and steadfast devotion to family, country and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Her life was grounded by her profound love for Kent, her high-school sweetheart, whom she married when they were both 19. They celebrated their 59th anniversary in June 2021. Marcia always made her husband, children and grandchildren her top priority. She loved them without limits, and her encompassing love extended to parents, siblings, nieces and nephews and their families as well.

Marcia grew up in Lehi, Utah, dancing alongside her brother Bill. They performed in many recitals of the June Purrington Park School of Dance in Salt Lake City and then in recitals of the Irene J. Earl Dance School in American fork and finally in shows produced by Bill Evans School of Dance in Lehi. Marcia loved movement and was a sophomore cheerleader at Lehi High School as well as an expert baton twirler for the Lehi Marching Band and the color guard that opened all home football and basketball games.

While Kent was earning his bachelor’s degree at BYU, Marcia worked as a secretary in Provo but also headed her own dance school in Lehi and choreographed for Lehi High School musical productions. Later she established a dance school in Bountiful and produced her own Davis County dance recitals. She was thrilled when her daughter Melanie was among the performers in her shows.

When the children were raised, Marcia became an administrative assistant at Woods Cross High School, where Kent taught cabinetry and millwork, for 16 years. Her compassionate interest in students at the school went beyond her required duties and was recognized by tributes from students on many occasions.

Marcia embraced the significance and dignity of physical work. Her homes were lovingly cared for, meticulously clean and organized, and she took enormous pleasure in welcoming family into her home for such events as an annual Christmas Eve dinner that became a long-standing tradition. She loved caring for her beloved grandchildren. She found joy in the companionship provided by beloved dogs.

A celebration of Marcia’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21. 2026, at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. Interment will be in the Lehi Cemetery.
