Marcia Joy Leix

Marica Joy Gleason Leix passed away on November 22, from Progressive SupraNuclar Palsy in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 72. She was born on August 16, 1953, to Dale and Constance Holman Gleason in Owosso Michigan. She married Paul Leix on May 21, 1975, in the Washington D.C. Temple after they both completed college. She knew Paul since the sixth grade. They went to Junior and Senior High School together and played in the bands. Following High School Marcia enrolled at Brigham Young University, where she played clarinet in the marching band. She graduated from BYU with her bachelor’s degree in clothing and textiles, fashion merchandising. Paul and Marica raised a family together while she supported Paul in his Military career where they eventually settled in Kaysville Utah. After being a stay-at-home Mom, Marcia worked for such companies as Lego, Hasbro, Fashion Bug and teaching art at Endeavor Elementary. Marcia enjoyed sewing, gardening, quilting, crafting, scrapbooking, baking, watercolor painting along with spending time with friends and family. She was very talented.

Marcia was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. She enjoyed sharing the gospel from a young age. She served a full-time senior mission in the Ohio Cincinnati Mission. Where her mission president was the same man who helped convert her eternal companion Paul over 50 years prior, before they were married.

She cared for her husband while he battled terminal cancer and is now excitedly reunited with him. Marica was a great and loving wife, Mom, Grandma and friend to many. She will be dearly missed by; her daughter Emily, Emily’s son Noah, Marcia’s son Adam Leix (Kimberlee Oveson) and their five children: Michael, Sophia, Isabelle, Christian and Juliet. Marcia is also survived by her brother, Kent Gleason (Sarah Wagstaff), sister Dawn Gleason Cole (Doug Cole), brother Jonathan Gleason (Suzanne Bruhl), and sister Margert Eleanor Gleason. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday December 2, 2025, at the Garden's Chapel, Country Lane Ward, 9 West 550 South, Kaysville, Utah. Friends and family may visit Monday evening between 6 and 8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main, Farmington/Kaysville, or Tuesday December 2, from 9:45 10:45 pm at the church.
