Bountiful – Mae Lucille Williams Earl Nelson ?Grandma with the Glasses?, 86, died October 20, 2005, of natural causes. Born June 29, 1919 in Provo, Utah, to Samuel William and Rebecca Overlade Williams, she was raised in a home where music was the family business. She attended BYU where she met Leland Joseph Earl from South Weber, Utah. They were married on June 17, 1940 in Farmington, Utah. Marriage later solemnized in the LDS, Salt Lake Temple. After Leland?s death in 1990, she married Carl Erwin Nelson in 1992 in St. George, Utah. They shared the next eight years together until his death at 98. She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Deanna and Marty Ehman of Bountiful, and Elaine and Gary Beck of Glendora, California, nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. During World War II, Leland was assigned by the Navy to San Diego, California. The family followed him to California where they lived for 44 years, residing in San Diego, Inglewood and San Gabriel. Mae loved to serve. She was an exceptional Grandma and loved her family very much. She served as Relief Society President, on the California-Utah Women?s Board, Board Member of the Harold B. Lee Library at BYU, Pasadena Stake Mutual Marrieds Leader and member of the BYU Club. She traveled extensively throughout the states and Europe and passed her love of travel on to her family. She will be missed. Thanks to the Inn on Barton Creek for the love and warmth she has felt there for the last 4 years. Viewing, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2005, at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. Funeral, 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2005, at the Bountiful 54th Ward, 550 North 1200 East, Bountiful, Utah with a viewing prior to the funeral from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the LDS Humanitarian Center.
