Lynn L. Barber

December 3, 1952 — October 30, 2025

Lynn L. Barber born December 3, 1952 to Lawrence & Dorothy Barber. Oldest of four children, Lynn(Connie), Larry Barber (Valeen), Sharon Condie, Gary Barber (Tamara).

Preceded in death by his Father & Mother, Dorothy & Lawrence Barber & his Beloved Granddaughter Hailee Anderson.Lynn grew up in Centerville, Utah where he loved life and made some amazing lifelong friendships. He loved the freedoms and fields and space of little Centerville. He enjoyed bike riding and on occasion he rode bikes with his friends to Mapleton, Utah to see his loved Grandmother. He has looked so forward to seeing her and his beloved Granddaughter again.

As the oldest child in the family, Lynn took that responsibility to heart and that is where he learned to shoulder the weight of taking such good care of his own little family.Lynn attended Viewmont High School & the University of Utah. He continued his learning in Construction, Commercial Construction and Real Estate. Lynn earned Real Estate, Brokers & Construction licenses. He shared that knowledge with many others to help them also get their licenses. Lynn also served an LDS Mission to the Florida South Mission where he exemplified his amazing leadership skills and his love of others and his willingness to follow his Heavenly Fathers' plan for him. Lynn was able to create and instigate several amazing programs on the streets of Florida for investigators.

Lynn was an exemplar and confidante to many of his teenage Sunday School Students and impacted their lives in so many positive ways. He was their teacher and friend and his door was always open for ones struggling in their teenage years. His barbecue worked hard for those kids and they always felt his love for them.

Lynn continued his love and understanding of teenagers and became a school bus driver. He enjoyed his riders for over 30 years. He knew how to compartmentalize the noise and keep them all safe. He received an award for 30 years of safe driving.

Lynn has been an advocate of learning his entire life. His area of knowledge had no bounds. His motto to his family has always been: "remember…Knowledge is all you can take with you." If you ever couldn't find him, he was downstairs in his office studying the scriptures and all the teachings of the prophets. As well as understanding the signs of the times and all that was happening in our world. Lynn loved sharing that knowledge with everyone he met and was often frustrated when they didn't take those teachings to heart as well. His children soaked up that love of learning as well and are carrying on that amazing legacy!

Lynn enjoyed woodworking and became a Master Craftsman. The furniture he built for his family is treasured and will truly endure through time. He started his first home before he was even married with money he worked so hard to save through his teenage years. He also built his second home and homes for many others in this area. His children always hoped for dad to build them a home of their own that would endure through time. But he was able to build them furniture they will treasure forever. He became a master on a scroll saw and crafted sought after heirlooms for family.

Lynn met his soul mate Connie Sanders shortly after returning from his mission and married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 1, 1974. They have been together for over 50 years and have been each other's very best friend. Their love for each other and their children has been their only focus together their whole life. Working together to provide and nurture.

Lynn is a Father and exemplar to his four amazing children: Kimberlee, Bryan, Heidi & Rob. And he is an adored Grandfather to Hailee, Josh & Zach Anderson, and Matix, Rylee & Dax Barber. Together with his wife, that little family became their reason and purpose for life. His every waking moment became preparing for and protecting his family. His greatest joy in life was feeling that he had done all he could to take care of them and protect them from the hard knocks of this world.

Lynn is known for his generous giving and compassionate service to others. He has enjoyed living simply, not needing a lot and wanting to share what he has been blessed with. He is the least judgmental person any of us have ever known. He has worked so hard to learn and understand the mysteries of this world, the teachings of Christ and what is necessary to return home. He willingly shares his knowledge with anyone interested. He will be sorely missed for the wisdom & learning that he has packed into one life. Lynn exemplifies Christ like love in everything he does. He is a tremendous example for all of us to follow.

We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to Intermountain Hospice, and more specifically, our hospice nurse, for treating Lynn as her own family in his final days.
