Lowell Cecil Carr

Lowell Cecil Carr passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, in his home at the age of 90.

Born on August 27, 1935, in Salt Lake City to Cecil Alexander Carr and Ivy Streeper, he married Carolyn Fay Healy, also known as Toni, in the Salt Lake Temple on June 4, 1959. She passed away July 3, 2012.

Survivors include his ten children – Cecile C (Scott) Eden, Brigham City; Bevan L (Jeanine) Carr, West Jordan; Danielle C (Randall) Burgoyne, Centerville; Stacey C (John) Gillespie, Layton; Jennifer C Griffin, Bountiful; Melissa C Michaelis, Bountiful; Stanton H (Sandra) Carr, Syracuse; Lauren C (John) Schneider, Kaysville; Craig A (Brandi) Carr, Clearfield; Peter A (Ku’uipo) Carr, Springfield, Virginia – a foster son, Luis A (Kori) Castillo, Kaysville; his siblings, Maurine C Ward, Hyrum; Leslie C Jorgensen, Riverton; Alex P (Pam) Carr, Centerville; and 53 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren - with more on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Toni; one brother, Blaine S. Carr; and two great-grandchildren.

He graduated from Davis High School. He worked with the student body officers serving as publicity manager working as the school artist and yearbook artist for two years each. He helped organize a dance band and played the trombone for school dances. Later he organized and played in a dance band on his mission for the youth he was serving. He graduated from the University of Utah in Fine Arts. He helped design and work on two of the homes he and Toni lived in.

Lowell was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all his life. He helped create a new stake, served as bishop, bishopric counselor twice, stake presidency counselor, ward mission leader, temple worker, and Stake Sunday School counselor. He was an Eagle Scout and very involved in Scouting. He had many adventures with his sons and other young men. He served in the French Mission, which included France and Belgium, and later served with his wife in the DR Congo Mission in Africa and the Rustov Mission in Russia. He supported his wife and children in their activities, attending soccer games, dance recitals, band competitions in Canada, art shows, choir, orchestra and band concerts, and plays.

He spent most of his adult life working at Carr Printing Company, a part of the family’s fourth generation at the business. He was president of Carr Printing Company and the Printing Industries of Utah. He was a great organizer who planned additions or new buildings for Carr Printing and where each piece of equipment should go in the new buildings.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 1476 N. 300 W., Bountiful, Utah. Viewings will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, and before the funeral at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Memorial Lakeview Cemetery.
