Loretta Ann Stokes Hill

July 1, 1937 — May 30, 2026

Bountiful, UT

Married to Kenneth Orson Hill, March 9, 1957. Sealed March 11, 1976.

Loretta loved a long, sentimental obituary. She clipped and saved the ones that touched her heart, carefully tucking them away in boxes throughout the years. We can only hope this is one she would have chosen to keep.

Loretta and her beloved Ken were true partners. Wherever one was found, the other was never far away. They were a team. They traveled the world together, collecting beautiful treasures that represented the people, cultures, and places they encountered. Losing her soulmate was one of the greatest challenges of her life, but she faced it with faith, courage, patience, and grace. Through her example, she taught us what it means to endure hardship while holding tightly to hope.

Loretta was hilarious and always ready for a good time. She had a serious case of FOMO and never wanted to miss out on the fun. Flirtatious, playful, and full of life, she brought the party wherever she went. But her greatest life work was collecting and nurturing people. With the sparkle in her eyes, her beautiful smile, and her open arms, she drew people in and made them feel they belonged.

She was fiercely loyal and protective. Once you were in, you were in for life. Mama Ret had your back. Her hugs were legendary—sought after, enveloping, soul-healing embraces that left no doubt you were seen, cherished, and deeply loved.

Loretta embraced and excelled in the many roles she held throughout her life: daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, friend, and disciple of Christ. She poured herself into each one with devotion, generosity, and love.

Children: Shelly Ann Wright Sieb (George), Spencer K. Hill (Louise), and Jodi Lynn Hill Strong (Rick). Grandchildren: Skylar Kenneth Wright (Lindsay), Caroline Louise Hill (Ian Gordon), Virginia Hill Anderson (Egan), James Albert Strong (McKenna), David Spencer Hill, Catherine Anne Hill, and Olivia Loretta Strong. Great-grandchildren: Hope Kelsey Wright Nelson (Kyeler), Sally Jo Wright McSwain (Coleman), Hazel Lindsay Wright, Amelia Kate Strong, Alice May Anderson, Etta Grace Strong, Mabel Ruth Strong, Hal Nicholas Nelson, and Spencer Egan Anderson.

Survived by her devoted brother and sister-in-law JD and Terrie Stokes, who served her and made her laugh to the very end.

To our neighbors and our chosen family: we love you. Thank you for your visits, your countless acts of service, your prayers, and your unwavering support. You carried us, and her, through difficult days with kindness and compassion. Our family is especially grateful for her Legacy family, whose tender, constant, and joyful care blessed her life in immeasurable ways. Please never underestimate the difference you make in the lives of those you serve. Your names and your acts of love are forever written on our hearts.

Loretta's greatest treasure was never the places she traveled, or the things she collected—it was the people she loved. Her legacy lives on in all of us who were fortunate enough to be gathered into her heart
