Lloyd Reed Ward

August 29, 1943 — July 12, 2025

Lloyd Reed Ward, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, at the age of 81 in Farmington, Utah. Born in Willard, Utah on August 29,1943, Lloyd was the beloved son of Donas Ray and Verlie Bott Ward. He grew up in northern Utah on a farm in Willard and then in a home in North Ogden alongside his 3 brothers and one sister learning the value of hard work. He and his siblings shared many enjoyable experiences despite the challenges of handling sheep and horses in the rugged Utah mountains. Even in his later years, Lloyd spoke of those times with his siblings. He was a much beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Lloyd was a life-long and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and disciple of Jesus Christ. He was called to serve as a missionary in the Central German mission where he served for a period of 3 years. He spoke often of his love for the people in Germany and of the devoted missionaries with whom he served. He also served in many callings after his mission but always loved when he was able to teach the youth of the church, especially in the Bountiful 50th Ward.

In 1967, Lloyd was married to Sandra Nelson Ward in the Salt Lake City temple and have been together for 58 years. Together, they raised a beautiful and loving family with 6 children in Bountiful, Utah, which he considered home. He instilled in his children a deep love of the gospel of Jesus Christ and to follow his Savior's example. He taught his children a strong work ethic by giving their best effort and to make room for laughter and joy. He enjoyed boating and each summer included trips to Lake Powell on the houseboat with family and close friends where we had many adventures.

Lloyd graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Economics. Professionally, he worked for a few different companies, but most notably owned and operated the Salt Lake Nut Company. The business was a true family endeavor, involving many of his children. While it had its ups and downs, it became a meaningful opportunity to work side by side, reflecting our father's generous spirit. He often extended that generosity beyond our family - employing those with significant life challenges and young people, before and after their missions, and helping support them in their education. His legacy of faithfulness, love, and service will continue to shine through the lives he touched.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Sandra; children; Shara and (Mark) Paskett, Rick and (Robyn) Ward, Melia and (Nathan) Zaugg, Tyler and (Melissa) Ward, and Tara and (Brandon) Beckstead along with 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, as well as his brother, Jim (Dalene) Ward and sister, Julie (Steve) Facer He is preceded in death by his son, Briton Ward and brothers Major General Dale (Bonnie) Ward, Ray (JoAnn) Ward, and Duane Ward.

A memorial service celebrating Lloyd's life will be held July 18, 2025 for immediate family.
