Lisa Anne Johns Callister

May 23, 1972 — Jul 27, 2026

Our beautiful sweet and spicy daughter, sister, mom and friend passed away recently, and we are already missing her funny sense of humor and amazing laugh.

Lisa was born to Marianne Peterson Johns and Richard E. Johns Jr. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At two weeks of age, the little family moved to Bountiful Utah which is where she gradually greeted 4 more siblings to the family and creatively gave them all nicknames, some of which stuck for years. (Emily/Gongalings, Matt/Magata, Kari/Kiki, Brian/Beef). Lisa was a big tease and always found something to laugh at. She was also very smart and creative and helped many of her siblings with school writing assignments, some of which were reused again and again, each time achieving an A grade. Lisa graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree and later got an advanced degree in Human Resources. She thrived in the business world and was driven, determined and the hardest of workers. Lisa loved to read and learn new things and was always looking for growth in her career.

Lisa married Kevin Callister and settled in California for many years. Their son Chase Richard Callister was born in 2000 and couldn't have been more loved. Lisa loved being a mom more than anything and threw awesome birthday and Halloween parties for Chase and friends. She knew how to have a good time and was always a little bit extra in everything she did. Together Chase and Lisa loved spending days together on the beaches of California, taking long drives and listening to music, and traveling to new cities and countries. Lisa tolerated many strange pets (and the gross things they needed to eat) that Chase wanted, and he hatched several insects in his room that he had snuck into the house in his pocket, unbeknownst to her. Chase was her everything!

In 2011 Lisa moved back to Utah and settled in Bountiful with her son. Lisa was the one who sent out weekly motivational emails and quotes to her dad and family when her dad was battling cancer. She bravely battled cancer herself shortly after her father's passing which was terribly hard but gave her a new compassion for others. Lisa loved her nieces and nephews and being part of their lives. Her extensive clothing wardrobe was used by her nieces once to have an amazing private fashion show while the girls were house sitting and Lisa was out of town. She loved every photo she received from them.

Lisa was not given an easy road to walk. She felt deeply and because of her own struggles, she was open minded and had a sensitivity for others. She wanted to motivate and connect with people, so we encourage you all to laugh a little more, don't take life too seriously, lift others up and stay close to those you love in honor of Lisa.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father Richard and brother Brian, and is survived by her son Chase Callister, her mother Marianne Johns, and her siblings Emily (Taylor) Scalley, Matthew (Heather) Johns, Kari (Ryan) Christensen as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

A celebration of life will be held for close family and friends.
