Leon Don Lundquist

November 27, 1933 — January 18, 2022

Leon Lundquist, a kind loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away January 18, 2022, in Bountiful, Utah.  Leon was born November 27, 1933, in Preston, Idaho to Donald Albert Lundquist and Eulala Mae Condie.  Leon graduated from Preston High School in 1952, enjoyed boxing and began working for Wangsgaard Heating.  In 1953 he was drafted into the Army and served as Ammunition Supervisor for two years in Korea.  After the war, he graduated from Salt Lake Technical College and worked for Mechanical Equipment Company as a draftsman and design engineer.

Leon met his sweetheart Lynn Solomon at a church activity through a mutual friend and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 20, 1957.  He started his own business Lundquist Sales where he worked with his sons Michael and Dave.  He worked for 68 years in the industry and 45 of those years as founder and owner of his company.  He and his sons won numerous awards from the manufacturing companies they represented.  He was known throughout the industry for his honesty and integrity.

He loved hunting, fishing, fixing things, and caring for his yard, making it a ‘Garden of Eden’.  Leon served in many callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as Bishopric Counselor, Executive Secretary for 12 years, Ward Mission Leader and Sunday School President.  He also served as a missionary for five years at the South Davis Community Hospital Branch and in other executive positions for the church.

Leon adored his family. He loved caring for his sweetheart, working with his sons and spending time with his “Sunshine” Teri. He is survived by his wife Lynn of 64 years, his sons Michael (Ann), Dave (Kim), and daughter Teri (Bill) Moore, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and sister Elaine Hobbs (Tim).

Leon’s motto was “Honesty and Integrity” in both his professional life and with all he associated with.
