Bountiful, UT

Lee Richard Winegar, age 76, passed away August 28, 2026, at Creekside Assisted Living in Bountiful, Utah. We wanted to thank Creekside for their assistance and care over the last few months. Lee was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 29th, 1949.

Lee lived a dynamic life, wore many hats and participated in many different vocations, giving him a rich background and a varied tapestry of people he called friends. One of his life’s pursuits was searching for excitement and finding his next grand idea. For Lee the world was rich in color and full of endless possibilities. He had many great ideas and pursued them with gusto.

He was a farmer at heart with an entrepreneurial drive.

He was a very giving person. He would give a stranger the shirt off his back, and leave them with a smile. He had the unique ability to disarm and endear people to him through humor and an excitable personality. Lee would welcome anyone into his life; he was generous with his time and truly loved others. Serving others was his nature and provided him purpose. He was a hard worker, a quality he strived to instill in others. His greatest desire in life was to love and appreciate people and be appreciated in return. Forming connections with people, especially people who needed a friend, was his superpower.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many important and necessary callings in the service of the Lord.

Lee had a love of food, especially M&Ms, Root Beer, and chocolate, a love he shared with his father. He had a palate for simple and comforting food. Sharing a meal with someone was a form of love.

Lee is survived by his children: Seth, Amber, Simon, Samuel, Andrew and Adam and their spouses; His siblings: Linda, Lu Ann and Kent; a dozen grandchildren, and a handful of step-grandchildren; and Alana, the mother of his children and his first wife. He is preceded in death by his second wife, Barbara; and his parents Richard “Dick” and Karleen Winegar. He leaves behind an endless list of people who will remember him fondly.
