LaVea Evans

January 1, 1938 — November 27, 2022

Kaysville

LaVea Bodily Evans passed away at her home in Kaysville, Utah on Sunday, November 27th at the age of 84.

She was born January 1st, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Homer and Nettie Bodily.  She was always proud to say she was the first New Years Baby born in that year.   She was raised in Clearfield and graduated from Davis High School in 1956.

In 1955, she met her future husband Duane Evans while being a carhop at Daisy Maes.  They were married May 29th, 1956 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.  They were married 66 years.  In their early years of marriage, they lived in Anchorage, Alaska.   They loved it there and talked of it often.  They have resided in Kaysville for the past 54 years.

Through the years of raising their family, they felt it was important for their family to go camping, snow skiing, boating/waterskiing, motorcycle riding and even a bought horse.  They passed on to their children the love of animals.  They’re favorite ones being handicapped or from the pound.  These are memories that will last a lifetime.

She worked at Hill Air Force Base as an Item Manager working on her pride and joy the B2 Bomber.  She also earned several Sustain Superior Awards.  Her work ethics were a great example to her children.

Her favorite activity was being the biggest fan and cheerleader to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was at every event, rain or shine.  The last couple of years were hard for her because of health issues.  Thank goodness for videos and Face time.

She is the biggest fighter we’ve ever known.  There were several times over the years we were told she wouldn’t make it.  She is a cancer survivor, has struggled with Crohns for 30 years, broke her hip, became septic and double pneumonia.  She proved the doctors wrong each time.  She had a strong will to live and never gave up.

There was never a time when she and Duane felt the need to be somewhere else when family had something going on.  They would be there for us for even the smallest event.  And it spoke volumes to us.  They have taught us very well in supporting our loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ben Bodily, Lynn Bodily and Vaughn Bodily, her sister Jean Marquardt.  She is survived by her husband Duane, son Michael Evans, daughters Cindy (Jim) Beene and Suzi McCall, 5 grandchildren Chay (Craig) Ohlson, Lachelle (Brett) Felton, Chaundra Beene, Beau (Gracie) Beene, Josh McCall, 3 great grandchildren, Oakley Ohlson, Ridge Ohlson and Rylee Felton.

We will miss the “I love you’s “and “I love you more”   Mom, We Love You More!!!
