October 30, 1953 — February 2, 2023

Our dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend passed away February 2, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

LaVal was born October 30, 1953, in Cortez, Colorado, to Lewis LaVal Willden and Dorothy Ann Randall Willden. LaVal was raised in a large family with 10 siblings, many of which he was very close with and had fond memories with. His nickname, Buzzy, came about from his younger siblings who could not say his name, LaVal, so they would call him Buzzy and it stuck throughout his life and everyone knew him as Buzz.

LaVal met Pamela Freestone at 5 points shopping center in Bountiful, Utah, where he was working as a maintenance guy and they married on August 2, 1973. Over the years they had and raised 3 children.

LaVal drove truck for 38 years for Osborne Trucking, where he made many lifelong friends.

LaVal loved Nascar, camping and hunting with his family. He grew up hunting with his dad and grandpa, and this continued with his own son. He loved going on camping trips and attending the Nascar races every year with his family. He loved hearing and telling stories.

Survived by his children: Wendy (Brent) Preece, Woods Cross; Jeremy (Andrea), Farmington; and Megan Willden, Woods Cross; 10 grandchildren: Taylor, Sklyer, Jadden, Gracie, Matthew, Kayleigh, Elijah, Gage, Maggie and Wyatt; 3 great-grandchildren, Kolt, Oakley, and Maddox; and his siblings: Bev Kay (Karl) Freeman, Jerry (Julie) Willden, Bonnie (Bill) Lewis, and Tim Willden.

Preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Willden; parents Lewis and Dorothy Willden; brothers Eddie Willden, Scott Willden, and David Willden; and sisters Linda Goff, Lavaughna Welch, and Valerie Willden.
