Larry E Hawkins

Larry Everett Hawkins Sr. passed away peacefully June 6, 2023. Larry was born March 7, 1938 in Colonia Juarez Mexico to Adolph and Sarah Ann Hawkins. He was the third of seven children. Larry was raised on a farm where he developed a strong work ethic and a love of mornings. Larry served an LDS mission in the Eastern States Mission where he participated in the Hill Cumora Pagent and taught many people the gospel of Jesus Christ. He returned home from his mission to Long Beach California where he met his eternal companion, Berlinda Prettyman. They were married September 25, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple. Wanting to be closer to family, Larry and Berlinda moved to Salt Lake City where Larry had a successful 30 year career with the Utah Transit Authority. He not only loved driving the bus and trax train, but he loved meeting and talking to people while driving.  Larry loved to fix things. He was always working on a project at home or helping someone else. After 50 years of marriage, Berlinda died of Alzheimer's disease. Larry then married Barbara Karen who died of natural causes two years later.  Larry is preceded in death by wife Berlinda, wife Barbara; his parents Adolph and Sarah; his brothers Clyde, Billy, and Allen. He leaves behind his siblings Deann (Leon, deceased), Eunice (Ed), Erva (Reed); his children Linda, Larry (Barbie), Janet, Mike (Cindy), 16 loving grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held June 14, 2023 from 6-8 pm at Russon Mortuary, 295 N Main St. Bountiful.  Funeral services will be June 15, 2023 at 12 pm, with a viewing from 10:30 am - 11:30 am at the Rose Park North Stake Center 1155 N 1200 W Salt Lake City UT.
