Larraine Newbold Durrant

On January 19, 2023, Larraine Newbold Durrant courageously completed her earthly journey and returned to her Heavenly Father peacefully while surrounded by her loving family, at home, which was always her wish.

Larraine was born May 13, 1942, to Samuel Orlon and Mary Henrietta Newbold. Growing up she enjoyed trips with her father fishing in Yellowstone and sometimes traveling to Salt Lake City to enjoy hamburgers and occasionally buy a new dress. Larraine cherished her times at the ocean with her husband, collecting lighthouses along the way. She loved to read, learn, and write poetry. She also enjoyed music and was a skilled pianist.

Larraine loved her family. Her motto was “make a memory.” Her annual traditions, she started with her family, was 4-wheeling in Moab and camping in Jackson Hole. Her most precious times were always with her family. Larraine loved holidays and parties. Her favorite season was Christmas. Side by side, there was never a Morris without a Larraine and never a Larraine without a Morris.

Larraine is survived by her eternal husband, and best friend Morris, four children, Tami (Darrell) Allen of Roundup, MT; Teresa (Mark) Larsen of Syracuse, UT; Robyn (Steve) Tolboe of Queen Creek, AZ; and Todd (Mizuho) Durrant of Centerville UT; 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, that she deeply cherished, along with her beloved sister, Darlene Little of Morgan, UT. Larraine was welcomed into her heavenly home by her Father, Mother, dear sister Rhea, among other family and friends.

Larraine built her family a home full of memories, traditions, and the spirit of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at the Centerville South Stake Center, 270 North 300 East, Centerville, Utah. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, and Wednesday morning 8:45 - 9:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
