LaRae Burningham Hibberd

LaRae Hibberd, age 90, passed away peacefully February 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

LaRae was born on November 5th, 1935, in Bountiful, Utah, to Elinor Smith Burningham and Turner Burningham. As a child she loved joining her father on his route as he would deliver fruits and vegetables to his customers. She loved to reminisce about her childhood and her Mother and Father. She was proud to say she was a Burningham and of who her parents were, never hesitating to remind people that Turner was her Dad and the Marshall of Bountiful City for many years.

She married the love of her life, Herbert E. Hibberd (Bert), on April 30, 1953. They were approaching their 73rd wedding anniversary.

They had two children, Earl (1954) and Becky (1958). Just when they thought they were about done raising their kids, they were surprised to find out that they would soon have their third child, Chris (1975).

LaRae and Bert enjoyed road trips in their motorhome. Whether it was a quick weekend getaway close to home or longer trips across the country. Once Bert retired, they spent several winters in Arizona, California, and Mexico.

Family Reunions to Hyrum Dam and Palisades State Park were annual events that she looked forward to. Family was very important to LaRae and she loved reconnecting with cousins and extended family. This explains why Sunday dinner at Chuck A Rama was a weekly event for many years.

She is survived by her husband Bert, her children, Earl, Becky (Bob), and Chris (Heather), 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, her sister Jennie, and her brother Stephen (Lynn). She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Karen.

A viewing will be held at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. followed by graveside services starting at 11:00 a.m. at Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West in Bountiful.
