Lanny Mark Tracy, 78, our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather, after a lengthy illness, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father in his home on February 28, 2023.

Lanny was born May 5, 1944 in Malta, Idaho to Lorenzo David and Nina Lorraine Barrett Tracy. He grew up in Malta where his family had a dairy farm and graduated from Raft River High School where, he was involved in many sports. After High school he moved to Bountiful, Utah and lived with his aunt and uncle Dean and Evelyn Barrett. During this time he "bumped" into his future wife, Diana Strand, at the Classic roller skating rink.

Lanny worked for various automotive and diesel repair shops and he had a mobile repair shop on the side for many years until 2000 when he opened his own shop with location, Tracy's Repair, in West Bountiful.

He served in various leadership positions with the young men and also as the Elder's Quorum secretary in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also involved in scouting for the BSA for most of his life and was a tremendous influence on many young boys lives. During his time in scouting he earned his Silver Beaver.
Lanny and Diana would've been married for 58 years on St. Patrick's Day and lived in West Bountiful for 46 of those years. He enjoyed boating, scouting and auto restoration. Later in life, when he could no longer work, he found joy in reading many books.
