Lane Knighton Adams

October 6, 1933 — December 8, 2023

Lane was born on October 06, 1933 in Clearfield, Utah, the seventh of eight children born to Edgar Fanning Adams and Mabel Ella Knighton.  Our beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at the Mckay Dee Hospital on December 08, 2023, due to age related complications.

Lane married the love of his life, Iona Mitchell, on July 25, 1952, in Clinton, Utah.  They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 26, 1962.  They have six children: Lou Ann Willoughby (Craig), Becky Patterson (James), Teresa Patterson (Alan Jack), Lane Mitchell Adams (Laura), Lisa Langburd (Alan Bruce), and Andrew Knighton Adams (Cary).  His family extends to 88 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was born during the depression and World War II era.  These difficult times help develop his hard work ethics and thriftiness.  He worked for over 35 years as a scheduler for the Minuteman Silo Project at Hill Airforce Base.  He had been employed as a butcher at Albertson’s Grocery and worked construction for Patterson Excavation.  He provided cut firewood for Albertson’s and 7-Eleven stores.  Lane was a master builder with projects of block laying, cabinetry, horticulture and sheep husbandry.  He built everything from camp trailers, cabinets, steam rooms, storage units, houses, renovations for additions, roofing and finishing of concrete.  He could mechanic with the best and fix anything.

Lane was an outdoorsman loving the time spent with his family on boating and hunting trips.  He enjoyed the company of many friends and neighbors.  He had a strong sense of patriotism and treated everyone as his equal.  He enriched the lives of all those who he touched.  No one was ever turned away from his door.

He was highly diversified in his knowledge and skills.  He read all the volumes of the Encyclopedia Brittanica A-Z.  He memorized all the bones and muscles of the human anatomy.  He taught himself how to play the guitar by watching YouTube videos.  He enjoyed oil painting and watching the Paranormal channel.  Lane loved a good prank and initiated many on his own.  He lived his life to the greatest fulfillment with his family.

A special thanks goes out to those who have sacrificed their own time providing comfort, care and love to our father, grandfather and great-grandfather these last three years.  He received exceptional care as he faced being alone, blind and hearing impaired.  We cannot thank you enough for everything that was done.  We want to express our gratitude and love for all of you.
