Kraig Jennings Jacobsen passed away peacefully in his home on July 24, 2024, in Woods Cross, UT, at the age of 65.
Kraig was born on September 15, 1958, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Ron and Marlene Jacobsen. He graduated from Viewmont High School in 1976. He was employed by Wix, Allied Automotive, and Rocky Mountain Power before joining his father’s company, Ronald Jacobsen & Associates, alongside his big brother Kent. He later joined Union Pacific Railroad, where he worked for 28 years, retiring as a locomotive engineer. He cherished his fellow coworkers as if they were his own family.
Kraig loved skiing and had many adventures with his big brother. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time horseback riding with his beloved Charlie and friends in the Bountiful Mountains. There were countless memories made at Lake Powell, some too memorable to share. One unforgettable memory was in Las Vegas at his sister’s wedding, where he performed on stage with Connie Stevens, singing and dancing. It was truly priceless.
Kraig’s warmth, laughter, and zest for life touched everyone who knew him. His spirit will live on in our memories and in the lives he touched. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love and joy will continue to inspire us.
Kraig is survived by his siblings Kimberly Bleckert (Mark) and Kurt Jacobsen (Jenny), as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins who all adore him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Marlene Jacobsen, and his big brother, Kent Jacobsen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Stonebridge Golf Club, 4415 Links Drive, West Valley City, UT, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.
