Kimberlee Cunningham Funk

February 3, 1970 — May 30, 2023

Kimberlee Cunningham Funk, beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, passed away May 30 after a long and intense battle with depression, anxiety, and borderline personality disorder.

Kim was born in 1970 in Ogden, Utah to Don & Erna Cunningham. She was born three months premature and was always anxious about being late to anything. She was a fighter from birth.

Kim graduated from Logan High School in 1988 where she played basketball and volleyball. She later graduated from Dixie State College. Kim married the love of her life Brian Funk in December of 1991. They had two beautiful children, Zachary Brian Funk and Megan Funk Barnes. After marrying Brian, they moved to Saint George where Kim loved the heat. They spent their time there and in the surrounding areas until her passing.

She loved her husband and family more than anything else in the world. She was also a loving dog mom to her dog, Lucy. Kim was a fierce ally for the LGBTQIA+ community and was always the biggest supporter of her son. She loved and accepted anyone without asking questions.

Kim loved her celebrity gossip, Reality TV, Utah Utes Football, and going for drives with her husband. She loved her music. Anyone who’s been in a car with Kim knew she had the mouth of a sailor and wasn’t afraid to tell the other drivers to get out of her way.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Erna Ellen Payne Cunningham, and her brother, Michael Don Cunningham. She is survived by her loving husband, Rodney Brian Funk, her two children, Zachary Brian Funk and Megan Funk Barnes, her son in law, Joshua James Barnes, her father, Donald Carlos Cunningham, her siblings, Brent John (Diana) Cunningham, Hydee Jo Cunningham, Emilee Ester (Ryan) Gapinski, and her dog Lucy.

Private services will be held. Interment at Farmington City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Trevor Project or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in her honor.

She will be incredibly missed.
