Kerry Louis Thorup

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away September 28, 2022, after his battle with cancer with his family by his side. Kerry was born July 23, 1961, at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

He married the love of his life Cheryl, and soon they had two sons, Shawn and Eric.

Dad always showed an interest in tinkering with anything he could get his hands on from a young age. His tinkering led him to become a master automotive tech. He loved riding his motorcycles, camping in the mountains, target shooting and being with family.

Anything Dad put his mind to, he committed to wholeheartedly. It always had to be done the right and correct way. Later in life Dad became an amazing cook, he enjoyed cooking everything for everyone. You could always find him in the kitchen making a mess, but it sure was worth it.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Col. Louis Thorup, and Doryse, his brother Gordon, and sister Cindy. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his children Shawn and Eric, daughter-in-law Rhiannon, 3 grandchildren, Kami, Olivia, Katie, sister-in-law Judy McCarthy and his beloved doggies, Dora and Saizon.

A viewing will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2022, at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. A graveside service will follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful.

Graveside services will be streamed live on the Russon Brothers Mortuary Facebook page and on this obituary page. The live stream will begin about 10-15 minutes prior to the service and will be posted below.
