Kenneth E. Norris peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on Christmas Day, 2025, in Taylorsville, Utah. He was born February 23, 1935, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Glenn Joseph Norris and Lena May Balmer, the fifth of eight children. He grew up near Durango, Colorado, a place he loved and returned to often throughout his life.
Kenneth was devoted to his family. He married his first wife, Lydia, and they had two children, Jim and Tina. He later married Ireta and lovingly embraced her children—Lee, Don, Sue, and Ron (who preceded him in death)—and together they added Angel, Eddie, and Kristi to their family.
Kenneth worked for Garrett Freight Company before earning a bachelors degree in Aircraft Instrument Repair from Weber State University. He spent the remainder of his career with the Kroger Company, retiring from Grand Central and Fred Meyer, which took him to communities throughout Utah and Idaho.
He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the late 1960s and remained an active member, serving a mission with his wife at the LDS Employment Center in West Valley, Utah. Kenneth enjoyed square dancing, singing in a barbershop quartet, and crocheting, sharing his many talents with others.
After the passing of his beloved wife in 2023, Kenneth longed to be reunited with her. Our hearts are comforted knowing that his Christmas wish was granted and that they are together again.
Graveside services will be held Friday, January 2, 2026, in Randolph, Utah.
