Kenneth Lee Gisseman, born March 9, 1917 in Bountiful Utah, returned home March 27, 2011 at 94 years of age. He graduated from West High school and attended the University of Utah. Ken served in the 1st Calvary Division in the South Pacific during World War II. Upon returning home, he worked as a mechanic at Deseret Chemical and Tooele Army Depot. He married Sylvia Boyack on January 18, 1947. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple April 23, 1954. They were blessed with three daughters. Ken served in many positions in the LDS Church, including Bishop in the Rose Park 1st ward and Welfare Square. He and his wife served in the Montana Billings Mission where they met and loved many Crow and Cheyenne. Ken was a great man, full of compassion and patience, who touched the lives of many. He loved his family and the Church. We love you and will miss you Dad!

He is survived by daughters Judy and Joylyn (Stephen Jones), grandson Michael (Christi), granddaughter Jennifer Bergstrom (Nate), great grandchildren Devyn, Geno, and Alexander.

We express gratitude to wonderful caregivers, Michael Jones, Mary Kunze and Alex Donet, and the staff at Evercare Hospice, especially Jason and Shanille for their tender care, patience, and professionalism. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on March 31, 2011 in the Cannon 5th Ward, 1250 West 1400 South in Salt Lake City. Friends may call prior to the services from 9:30 am and 10:30 am.
