Kenneth H. Delost

July 22, 1986 — April 20, 2024

Kenneth Delost passed away unexpectedly of a sudden illness while on vacation April 20, 2024, with his loving wife Heather by his side.

His arrival into the world was met with great joy and excitement by his parents Kort H. Delost and Sherrie Hamby Delost.

Kenny grew up in Bountiful where he participated in youth soccer and baseball. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ken enjoyed the scouting program and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He loved hunting and fishing with his dad and uncles, shooting, golfing, snowboarding, and riding motorcycles with family and friends.

Throughout high school Kenny worked at the family business, The Medicine Shoppe, alongside his grandpa, parents, sister, and co-workers who were also considered part of the family. He attended Bountiful High School where he found his love and passion for auto mechanics and graduated in 2004. He then continued his studies at Universal Technical Institute in the Auto-Diesel Mechanic Program.

Kenny worked hard to grow in his profession and was employed at R-n-M Transportation, Maverick Logistics, and AMS Towing & Transport. He always expressed the desire of one day owning his own roadside diesel repair business.

Fittingly, Kenny met the love of his life Heather Smith at the next pump over at a gas station stop on one of his many long drives. They later married in Logan on February 14, 2023, and made their home in Smithfield, Utah.  Together they founded HK Diesel Roadside Service.

Kenny was happiest helping others and is remembered for his many acts of kindness. He cherished his life with his wife and the love they shared. He enjoyed mentoring Heather’s youngest children Avery, Will and Eryn and loved them very much.

Being an uncle to his niece Waverlie and nephew Wells brought great joy to Kenny and he never missed an opportunity to see and play with them.

Ken is survived by his wife Heather and her children, his parents, his sister Jennie (Cole) Webster, niece Waverlie and nephew Wells, his grandmother Nelda Delost, mother-in-law Virginia Lee Hilborne, brother-in- law Bill (Kelli) Hilborne, uncles and aunts Jim (Lori) Hamby, John Tietsort, Steve Hamby, Joe Hamby, and Paula (Alan) Harris. Cousins Daniel Kunkle, Jessi (Jared) Quillen, Meagan Melby, Karl Hamby, Lex (Michelle) Bruso, Kodianne Wagstaff and Nelda (George) Harned.

Ken is reunited with his grandparents Darrell F. Saunders, Alice Mann, and Frank H. Delost, uncle Paul Bruso, aunts Sandy Jorgensen, Tina Stevenson, and Sue Tietsort, cousin Kristi Jorgensen, and father-in-law Ronald Hilborne.
