Kendall Peterson Andrews died Thursday, October 31 after fighting a long battle against depression. Born in Logan, Utah and an Aggie through and through, he was 37 years old.
If you knew Kendall, you probably had 10 inside jokes with him. He remembered facts about you that you had forgotten and loved to laugh. He was a student of sports statistics and history, frequently carrying several tomes with him on vacation. He was a fan. He loved to watch a game, go to a game and then talk about the game.
Kendall loved to travel and loved to take the family along for adventures. He saw bears in Alaska and the beaches of Costa Rica and always had a fun place he wanted to explore. He had set a goal to visit all of the National Parks and climb the highest peaks in the United States and he was well on his way to reaching both goals. He hiked up Mount Whitney in California, Mount Elbert and Mount Massive in Colorado and Mount Borah in Idaho with his dad. On the weekend or his days off, he often could be found hiking in the mountains of Utah or cheering on one of his favorite sports teams.
Kendall worked hard to graduate from Utah State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and pursued a master’s degree in public policy at Hawaii Pacific University, where he volunteered at the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum. While studying he received commendations from Sen. Mike Gabbard for his work interning at the Hawaii state legislature. He lived a year in Virginia volunteering at the American Civil War Museum and earned a certificate on Civil War Studies from American Military University.
Whether it be working at Resilient Solutions, managing properties, leasing apartments or helping refugees find resources in their new country; Kendall was dependable, kind and dedicated to the task. He made friends with coworkers and worked to find a common connection with people he met to become friends. He loved his friends and kept in touch with people from every chapter of his life.
He was so loved by his parents, Steve and Becky Andrews, his sister Natalie Andrews and brother-in-law Christopher Chaves e Silva, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His nephew Logan Silva and niece Laura Silva loved to visit him and loved when he came to visit. We will all miss him dearly.
