Keith Robert Welch, 71, of South Weber, Utah, graduated this life on the morning of August 28, 2025. He was born May 19, 1954 in Salt Lake City to Caryol Johnson and Samuel Hughes Welch. He was the third of six children. He was raised in Farmington, Utah.
Keith graduated from Davis High School in 1972. He was very proud to be a Davis Dart.
From 1973 to 1975, Keith served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sydney Australia.
He attended Utah Technical College and graduated May 1976 with a degree in construction.
Keith met Doris Nelson Labor Day weekend in 1975 and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 18, 1976. Together they raised 7 children. Family was everything to him.
Besides his family, he loved serving in the Boy Scouts of America for 54 years. He made lifelong friends all along the way. Keith loved serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served no matter where he was called from nursery to stake level callings; however, the Young Men hold a special place in his heart.
Keith has a very powerful testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ and anyone who knew him saw that no matter the day or time or no matter the trial he was going through. He lived his life emulating the light of Christ and teaching everyone he could about the happiness of the gospel. Keith spent the last 3 years serving as a full time Missionary with his sweet wife Doris. They waited patiently for 23 months for the construction to begin on the Heber Valley Temple. During that time, they served in the Fort Heber Spanish Ward, teaching English Connect. Keith learned to speak Spanish well enough to baptize new converts using their native language. They were called as Zone Leaders and ministered to the missionaries serving in the Utah Provo Mission.
Keith and Doris were asked to transfer to Kona, Hawaii to continue serving as temple construction missionaries. In Kona they recorded the history of the dismantling and reconstruction of the temple. They learned and embraced the Aloha spirit while there.
Keith passed away peacefully with his eternal companion by his side in Utah.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Doris. His children, Chad Welch from Cedar Fort, Monica (JayDee) Guymon from Dutch John, Amy Nielson from Layton, Crystal (Brett) Allred from South Weber, Kirsten (Jeremy) Knowles from Avon, Carrie (Grant) Hillman Niceville, FL, Landon (Ashley) Welch from Salt Lake City, 27 Grandchildren & 1 Great-grandchild.
