Kay P. Campbell

d. May 30, 2024

Salt Lake City, UT

Kay P. Campbell passed away May 30, 2024, from complications due to deteriorating health conditions. She was a resident of Sandstone Millcreek Care Facility. Kay was born in 1945 to Carlyle and Beth Campbell in Salt Lake City, Utah, and had four sisters.

Kay graduated from West High School in 1963. She was employed by JCPenny and other service-oriented businesses. Kay loved learning, reading, playing games, and doing puzzles. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially for special occasions. She particularly enjoyed any time spent with her nieces, nephews, and their extended families.

Kay was a devoted, lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various callings over the years, especially being a Gospel Doctrine teacher. She became especially close to many of the young families in the different wards she lived in, like the Armstrong and Lawrence families. A highlight of her life was serving an LDS mission to the England Central Mission. She fell in love with everything connected to England. Those connected to the England Central Mission and their families became special friends, including mission presidents, companions, and the elders she did reunions with, with a special appreciation for the friendship and lunches she shared with Judge Ted Stewart and Phil Marriott.

Kay is survived by her sisters, Marsha (David) Walker, Susan (Ralph) Smart, and Joy Campbell, along with the following nieces & nephews:  Lara (Dave)Walker-Hagen , Clayton (Michelle) Walker, and  children Summer (Casey) Rand, Cole Walker, and Aspen Walker; Julie (John) Shupe and children Genaveeve Grub, Parker (Jennie) Shupe, and Abigail Shupe; Shelley Walker and children Addison (Hunter) Clarke, Katelynn (Skyler) Paice, and Ashley Murphy; Nathan (Michelle) Walker and children Grace Walker, Elder Tate Walker (missionary in Chile), Eli Walker, Crew Walker, and Knox Walker; and Darcie (Jeremy) Paul and children Penelope Paul and Ella Paul. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Carla (Chris) Culverwell, and brothers-in-law David Walker and Chris Culverwell.

Funeral services for Kay will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, Utah.
