Kathleen Ives

Kathleen Myers Ives, age 79, died on December 30, 2022, of complications from cancer and a flu virus. She fought a courageous battle with cancer for nearly 10 years.  Kathy was born in Milford, Utah, on December 15, 1943. She was the daughter of Ernest Myers and Jessie Harrington.

Kathy was married to her sweetheart and husband for 32 years and had 3 children, Curt Ernest Ives (Margie), Melanie Christensen (Brad), and Bryant Norman Ives (Lindy). They were sealed in the Mesa, AZ Temple on June 16, 1972.  Kathy was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a full-time mother and wife to her family. She was known to her family as a strong and courageous woman, with a keen sense of humor who loved her family dearly.

She is survived by her husband Mel, 3 children, 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend and sister, Maureen Beutler, and brothers David and Edward Myers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ern and Jessie; her brothers; Frank, Gordon, and Shane Myers; and a sister, Marva Jane.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the doctors and caregivers who worked so diligently to prolong her life. In addition, we want to thank the many church members, neighbors, and friends who also provided much service and happiness to Kathy, her husband Mel, and her family.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 pm, at Russon Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street, Farmington, Utah. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 11:00 am, also at Russon Mortuary with a viewing from 9:45 am-10:45 am prior to services. Interment to follow immediately after at Lakeview Cemetery, in Bountiful, Utah.

Services will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary & Crematory Facebook page and on this obituary page.  The live stream will begin about 10-15 minutes prior to the service and will be posted below.
