Karina Landward

July 22, 1971 — December 24, 2022

Farmington

Karina Marie Fox Landward died unexpectedly December 24, 2022, at her home in Farmington, Utah. She was born July 22, 1971, in Provo, Utah, to David Keith and Linda Mecham Fox. She grew up in Washington, California, and River Heights, Utah. She was a compassionate, loving, and beautiful child and as the oldest of six, nurtured and cared deeply for her younger siblings.

Karina graduated from Mountain Crest High School, received history and law degrees from BYU and spent 20 years working as a constitutional law attorney for Kirton & McKonkie. She had recently decided on a career change and was pursuing a masters degree in city planning from the University of Utah at the time of her death.

She married Geoffrey Landward in the Salt Lake Temple on May 7, 2002. Her greatest joy was her four children, Ivy, David, Norah, and Jonah. Many hours were spent creating lifelong  memories of vacations and activities with her treasured family. She was a gourmet cook and a wonderful host, and would create beautiful surroundings and delicious spreads for any gathering. She was an avid reader of good literature, an accomplished pianist, and enjoyed various athletic pursuits including running a marathon and competitive swimming. Karina was an ardent animal lover, and cared for multiple pets throughout her life. Before her marriage, she spent several years in New York City following her passion for the dramatic arts. She could tell a story better than anyone, leaving the listeners hee-hawing with laughter. Her years as an attorney capitalized on her dramatic nature, adept debating skills, and keen intellectual mind.

Survivors include her husband, four children, three cats, mother (Linda Fox), five siblings (Brian, Alison, Christopher, Kenneth, Tara) with their spouses and children, in-laws (Larry and Carolyn Landward), brothers-in-law (David and Michael Landward), and sister-in-law (Jennifer Ottley) along with their spouses and children.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Keith Fox.
