It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Julianne Scott Ellis Sherinian on October 23, 2025, at the age of 85. After a courageous battle with breast cancer, she passed away peacefully at her home in Vacaville, California, surrounded by loved ones.
Julianne is survived by her four children and their spouses, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two siblings. She now joins her husband, Robert Hess Sherinian, of 51 years.
As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Julianne served faithfully in various volunteer positions. With a special love for family history and genealogy, she helped many connect with their roots and proudly joined the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers (DUP), and the Daughters of the Union Veterans Civil War (DUVCW).
Mom was a woman of remarkable skills and creativity. She was an accomplished quilter, seamstress, and embroiderer, talents she learned from her grandmother Julia while listening to the radio together. She created intricate quilts for her family and friends-each stitch representing love and care. Her favorite pattern was Grandmother's Flower Garden, and her treasured red and white quilts which symbolized her love for her country.
One of her proudest moments was winning a gold ribbon at the Pomona County Fair for her quilting. She once said, "I hope when I get to heaven, I will meet all the ladies whose quilts I was able to finish after they died. I hope they smile and say they're happy I finished what their hands could not-threading my stitches with theirs across time."
Julianne loved traveling the world, visiting her children, family and friends, and exploring historical sites. She traveled to nearly every U.S. state and experienced the cultures of over ten countries.
Although she is no longer with us in body, her presence remains in every quilt she stitched, every loaf of bread she baked, and every heart she touched. Her legacy of love and devotion continues to warm the hearts of many and inspire us to give to others and live in faith. Private family service to be held.
Interment will be at the Providence City Cemetery, Providence, Utah.
