Judith Macmillan Orchard

August 22, 1940 — December 15, 2025

Judith Macmillan Orchard 85, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025 surrounded by loved ones after a long and full life. She was born on August 22, 1940 in Seattle Washington.

Judi spent her childhood living in Northern California, Arizona, Florida and Southern California with her parents, Lloyd and Vivien Macmillan and older sister, Diane.

Judi married the love of her life, Bruce Orchard, with whom she shared 67 beautiful years of marriage. They met in Whittier California during the summer of 1955. She was friends with Bruce’s younger sister, and when she first came to the house, it was love at first sight. Judi started going to church with Bruce, and later attended early morning seminary with friends. They were engaged on Christmas day in 1957 and soon thereafter she started taking lessons from missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They were married August 8, 1958. Judi was baptized on Bruce’s birthday the following year and then sealed in the Los Angeles Temple in April 1960.

A happy loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Judi is survived by her husband, Bruce and their children —Bart/deceased (Laurie), Brad, Kelli, Bruce (Jana), and Kathi — as well as 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly. Judi was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Macmillan; mother, Vivien Macmillan; sister, Diane Eagan; son, Bart Orchard.

Judi found great joy caring for her family. She loved baking, yard work, embroidery, sewing, cutting and painting wood crafts. With a deep love of the gospel of Jesus Christ, Judi served happily and faithfully in many callings including Primary President, cub scouts leader, Young Women leader and Temple worker.

Through the years Judi loved working and had many different jobs including Albertsons bakery, teaching adult women how to sew, and working the day shift at Baskin-Robbins. She also worked as a dental assistant - Paul Adams for 10 years and Duane Orchard for 22 years, retiring at age 72. She enjoyed working in the dental field and loved getting to know all the patients and coworkers.

Her love and happiness was especially evident the last two years living at The Cottage Memory Care at Legacy House of Bountiful. Judi was everyone's favorite, gave the best hugs, always had a smile and loved to serve and help others. Her life was defined by faith, loyalty, and unwavering love and devotion to the people around her.

She will be deeply missed and her legacy of love, service, generosity, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
