Judith Lynn Lemperle

September 18, 1941 — November 17, 2025

Judith Lynn Lemperle (Smith), age 84, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, in Layton, Utah. Born on September 18, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah, she lived a life defined by unwavering faith, devoted service, and deep love for her family.

Judith graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City and went on to attend Brigham Young University. She later pursued a career as a dental assistant, dedicating much of her working life to helping others with care and precision.

Her greatest calling and joy was being a mother. She was and is and always will be a mother first—her children were the center of her world. She is survived by her beloved children: Lori (Lester Countryman), Lani (Alfredo Diez), Lynae, David (Karen Parson), Cristy (Michael Conners), Michael, and Andrew (Holly Briggs). Her legacy continues through her 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Judith also leaves behind her cherished sisters Barbara (Dale Tippits) and Patricia (Dale Hall).

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John David Lemperle; her parents, Evelyn and Richard K. Smith; and many others whose lives she touched deeply.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Judith’s faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ, was the essence of who she was. It guided every decision she made and every act of kindness she offered. Throughout her life, she served faithfully in numerous callings—including as Relief Society president and Primary president—across various wards and branches. Her commitment to service extended beyond the church into every corner of her community and home.

Judith found joy in simple pleasures: baking delicious treats for loved ones, sewing with care and creativity, and taking time to admire the beauty of nature around her. Her favorite color was turquoise—a reflection of the calm strength she carried—and she delighted in the refreshing taste of chocolate chip mint ice cream.

Her life was a testament to quiet strength, enduring faith, and boundless love. Judith Lynn Lemperle leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
