1993 Josh 2025

Joshua Lee Brimhall

March 4, 1993 — October 10, 2025

West Valley City, UT

Joshua Lee Brimhall, beloved fiancé, son, brother and friend, passed away on October 10, 2025.

Josh was born on March 4, 1993, to Robert and Wendy Brimhall, and he grew up in Bountiful, Utah. Josh loved his neighborhood, where he made many lifelong friends who remained close to his heart throughout his life. He faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Tacoma, Washington Mission.

From a young age, Josh developed a love for building and creating. Working alongside his dad, Rob, he learned the skills of homebuilding, home maintenance, and yard care. Together with his dad and siblings, they worked on building the family home. He worked for his dad’s lawn care company spending countless hours landscaping and mowing lawns—though, more often than not, Josh did the hard work while his dad enjoyed conversations with the families they worked for. Josh was able to work alongside many of his friends doing lawns, laughing with Rob, and those times became cherished memories.

Josh had an incredible talent for fixing just about anything. If he didn’t already know how, he’d figure it out. He carried this gift with him throughout his life, always willing to help anyone in need. Most recently, he had been proudly working on remodeling his new home.

Josh loved spending time with his siblings—whether on family trips to Disneyland, camping adventures, kayaking outings, or just being anywhere that they could spend time together. He loved the mountains and simply enjoyed being outdoors in nature.

Josh had a quiet, steady presence and was a thoughtful listener. His ability to listen has helped so many people when they needed to be acknowledged. Josh, like his dad, was the one that noticed you and made sure you knew you were loved. His quick wit and unique sense of humor could light up a room, and he was often the one to make everyone laugh when they needed it most.

From a young age, Josh had a natural instinct to care for others, starting with his own siblings. He loved them fiercely and was their protector in every situation. That protective spirit and desire to help others only grew stronger as he got older, ultimately leading him to the profession he was born for: firefighting.

Josh began his career with South Davis Metro Fire in 2018, where he found not just a job, but a calling. He lived and breathed the fire service. His favorite moments were on the roof, cutting ventilation holes, working with the trucks, and making forceful entries—anything that brought him closer to the action. He was relentless in his pursuit of excellence, constantly training to sharpen his skills and pushing himself to be better. Just as passionately, he dedicated himself to teaching and mentoring new recruits, eager to pass on everything he had learned. Even on his days off, Josh could often be found watching fire training videos, always striving to grow.

Josh’s fire family was large, loyal, and deeply connected. He spent countless hours learning from those who came before him and, in turn, guiding others who followed. The time they shared forged a bond that was truly special. He held each member of his fire family close to his heart and loved them deeply. He had a special ability to see the good in others, to recognize both their greatness and their struggles, and to remind them of their worth. His quiet presence and influence, loyalty, and strength will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank the entire staff and crews from the Fire Service for making Josh’s life what he wanted it to be.

Josh met Rhiannon Kelley at Station 85 in 2021 when they were assigned to the same fire crew. After a year of working side-by-side as fire partners, their friendship blossomed into something deeper, and they soon became inseparable.

Rhi — you are Josh’s moon and stars, and he will forever be your angel. The love you shared was beyond words. You brought a light into his life that everyone around him could see, and it was clear just how deeply you loved and cared for one another.

At the station, Josh was known to everyone as “Brims,” but to Rhi, he was affectionately “Hims” when he was happy and “Grims” when he was grumpy. Together, they dreamed of an amazing future filled with love and laughter. They were excitedly planning a spring wedding and looking forward to starting a family of their own, something Josh had always wanted.

Josh was believed to be an angel on earth by many, with an energy that welcomed anyone without judgment. Josh was a spiritually in tune person beyond what most people could measure. His gift to this world was enhancing every life that he has ever met, a gift that will stay with us all. His legacy will be one of service to all, both in his profession and his friendships. He served others quietly, with respect, compassion, humor and a genuine desire to make their lives a little better. He never sought recognition—only the quiet satisfaction of helping where he was needed most.

Josh was preceded in death by his father, Rob Brimhall. He is survived by his fiancé, Rhiannon Kelley; his in-laws Brock and Cathleen Clifton; his mother, Wendy Brimhall; his siblings Andrea Brimhall, Jacob Brimhall, and Madison Brimhall; the dogs Wally & Goose and his best buddy, his nephew William. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

As we lay Josh to rest, we know that this isn’t goodbye, and we will feel him in our hearts forever. To know Josh was to love him.

In the words of Josh: “That’s the Brimhall difference baby!”
