Jolaine Parrish Randall, age 81, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on July 22, 2025, surrounded by her adoring family.
Jolaine was born on May 7, 1944, in Centerville, Utah, to Samuel and Janice Parrish. She was the only and favorite daughter and the light of her family, deeply adored by her two older brothers, Richard and R.J. Her early years were filled with love and laughter, a foundation she carried into her own family.
On July 31, 1964, Jolaine married her “Big Hunk”, Val Randall, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. Their marriage was an example of enduring love and mutual respect. They navigated life hand-in-hand, arguing only over pancake thickness — an argument mom usually won.
Together they raised five stupendous children, each of whom believed they were Mom’s favorite — the hallmark of a truly great mother. Her devotion and ability to make each child feel seen and loved was recognized by many, including Davis County, where she was honored as Mother of the Year.
Her love only expanded with the arrival of 18 grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart — even if she had a soft spot for Cam. Whether it was sleepovers at “Grams,” sneaking treats from her well-stocked closet, or cheering from the sidelines of countless games, mom made sure her grandkids always felt like the center of her world. She remained a lifelong sports fan, especially loyal to the Utah Utes and any team her children or grandchildren played for.
Mom was a woman of quiet strength and enduring faith. After losing dad too soon, she continued to be the steady anchor for our family — modeling resilience, grace, and an unshakeable trust in God. Her love was the glue that held us together, her presence a compass that guided us through life’s challenges. She loved without conditions and listened without judgment. She was patience personified, kindness embodied, and the heartbeat of our family.
She is survived by her five children: Scott, Kristin Augustine, Kevin (Jennifer), Neil (Candace/Brandon), and Carrie Cox (Scott), 18 grandchildren, and a growing legacy of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Val, her parents Sam and Janice, her beloved brothers Richard and R.J., and her grandson Brett — all of whom surely welcomed her with open arms.
Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to mom’s hospice nurses, Austin and Ronda, whose gentle care and deep compassion helped carry us through this sacred time.
Jolaine was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Neighbor, and Friend. But above all, she was our compass— always steady, always present, always full of love. She made us better. She was our greatest blessing.
We love you, Mom.
