John Allen Pfromm Jr. (66) passed away too soon on 30 March 2023, in Syracuse, Utah after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends.
John was the first of four children, born to the late J. Loueen Carter and John Allen Pfromm on 24 March 1957 in Berwick, Pennsylvania. He completed his education through high school at Girard College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated in 1974. During the summer breaks, he worked on the family farm, and, in the winter, he enjoyed trapping small game and deer hunting.
On 29 August 1978, he began his United States Government Service that would span 43 years, beginning with the United States Air Force. While stationed in Osan, South Korea, he met Yongsun and was happily married for over 40 years. Throughout his Air Force career, John always made it a point to immerse his family in the local culture through traveling. During his Air Force career, he diligently earned his bachelor’s degree at Troy University, further exhibiting his hard work and dedication for self-growth. On 28 February 2005, he retired from active-duty military at the top rank of Chief Master Sergeant (AMMO). He resumed his civil service as a civilian, working at Hill Air Force Base in Utah, where he retired on 31 December 2021.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Yongsun; son, Jonathan (Michele) Pfromm; daughter, Candice (Seth) Slack; grandchildren, Grace, Calvin, Carly, Vera, and Sarah; brother, Bret (Shelly) Pfromm; and sisters, Cynthia Pauff and Vonda (Bryan) Yoder.
John has always been a faithful servant to God. He was a loving and devoted family man and will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, unconditional support and always putting his family first.
