Son. Brother. Husband. Father. Grandfather. John DeMarco was born October 29, 1945, in Price, Utah to Katherine Petronavitch and John DeMarco Sr. He grew up in Mapleton, Utah along with his older sister Barbara DeMarco.
A US Navy Veteran stationed originally in San Diego and then moved to Memphis Tennessee where he excelled in electronics. After graduating from the University of Utah he took a job at Sperry Univac with the help of his uncle, Louie DeMarco.
He met the love of his life, Martha Joe while working for Sperry Univac in Ft. Walton Beach, Fl. His job moved them as a family, with their daughter Rebecca Lee to Bountiful, Utah.
He spearheaded a range of amazing projects to include a helmet with infrared night vision like in Blue Thunder, the predator and global hawk which were the very first unmanned drone planes to exist, and Action Machine his dream business.
He spent many years of his life touching the lives of those around him and building friendships. The later years of his life were spent golfing, fishing, and loving his granddaughters, Megan and Jackie, and the rest of their family. He was truly one of a kind and gave selflessly to those around him throughout his life.
Graveside Services will be held at Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah at 2:00pm, Saturday March 25th, 2023. A gathering in his memory will be held immediately following at Ramblin’ Roads, 544 West 400 North, Bountiful, Utah 84010.
Please understand that in lieu of flowers, a donation in honor of John DeMarco to St. Jude Children’s Hospital will support a cause he felt deeply about.
